Family Studies Outreach
The UNH Center on Adolescence
The UNH Center on Adolescence is a University of New Hampshire/N.H. Department of Health and Human
Services collaboration designed to provide the infrastructure for
a coordinated effort to support the health and well being of New
Hampshire youth. The center, directed by Kristine M. Baber, professor
of family studies, links the people and agencies across the
state that work with youth to maximize collaboration and the efficient
use of resources.
In addition to educational and training programs for those in the
state working with adolescents and their families, the center has
developed various other methods of disseminating information, including
a Web site and "white papers" on critical topics such
as mental health issues, substance abuse, and violence. The center
also provides research-based information about positive youth
development and recommend best practices for helping youth thrive
and make a successful transition to adulthood. Learn
