3rd annual Research and Evaluation for Adventure Programming (REAP) Symposium March 12-14, 2007, Beverly MA
As the Evidence-Based Research Practice (EBRP) movement grows throughout the country, a number of educators are recognizing the impact this is having on the field of adventure programming. What started as a small collection of like minded people meeting in 2005 has grown to an annual conference of concerned individuals.
In March of 2007, 21 professionals from around the country convened in Beverly, MA to discuss the importance of recognizing and being proactive in the growing EBRP movement and its impact on adventure education. Many powerful presentation and conversations allowed us to share ideas and come up with strategies to mobilize the field of adventure programming towards these aims.
This organization of professors, researchers, and practitioners was still working to better define itself and develop action steps for the future. Strong connections were being made with Project Adventure and the Association for Experiential Education that will hopefully give this movement the support that it needs.
