Applying to UNH Outdoor Education

First Year Students and Undergraduate External Transfer Students

Thank you for your interest in our program. All students applying to the University of New Hampshire must apply to the program through the UNH Admissions Office

Undergraduate Internal Transfers

The Outdoor Education program welcomes internal transfer applications. Applications are reviewed on February 1, June 1, and October 1 of each academic year. The process involves the following:

  1. Completing an interview with the undergraduate coordinator.
  2. Filling out a transfer application. Download one here in PDF format. (May also be obtained in the Kinesiology office)
  3. Answering the "four questions". Download them here in PDF format.
  4. Obtaining a current transcript.

After completing the above four steps, a packet containing the transfer application, answers to the four questions, and your transcript should be submitted to Laurie Gullion, undergraduate coordinator for the Outdoor Education program, in New Hampshire Hall. Application packets that are incomplete or late will not be considered.

NOTE: Students wishing to transfer into the program are encouraged to take KIN 684/685 (EMT) and KIN 550 (Philosophy and Methods of Outdoor Education) prior to their application. Grades in each class must be at least a C in order to be accepted into the program. Good grades and recommendations from the faculty of these courses are important in the application process.
