Frequently asked questions

Do you accept international students?
Yes, we do accept international students. In the history of the graduate program we have had students from Canada, Thailand, Singapore, and Turkey. We highly value a diverse student population and the unique perspectives that students bring to the program.


Do you offer any programs to defer the cost of tuition? 
Yes, many graduate students will engage in a part time or full time assistantship. Contact Professor Mike Gass for information about current assistanceship availability.

How many applicants are there?
In recent years, we received about:
20 applications for the Masters program per year (and accepted about 5 per year)
6 applications for the PhD program per year (and accepted 1-2 per year)


How can I learn more about the program?
There are a two main ways you can learn more about the UNH OE program:

(a) Visit: Potential applicants are welcome to visit the UNH campus, meet with faculty members and current students, and attend a couple of classes. To arrange a visit, please contact Michael Gass.

(b) Email or Phone: For general enquiries, please contact Michael Gass; but also consider directing more specific enquiries to the other OE faculty members and/or to current graduate students. Link to faculty
