Applying to the University
Interested students should contact the Office of Admissions, University of New Hampshire, for admissions information and an application for admission. Students would select "Kinesiology" as their major, with "Pedagogy" as their Option of emphasis. Admission decisions are the responsibility of the Office of Admissions.
Program Requirements for Status as a Full-time Student
The Kinesiology Pedagogy Option at the University of New Hampshire is a rigorous and expansive program that requires a lot of credit hours and places heavy demands on the students enrolled in the program. First-year students admitted to UNH in the Pedagogy Option are classified as "Conditional Status". No student in the Pedagogy Option (Conditional Status) is guaranteed the opportunity for Full-Time Status. This also applies to any "Undeclared" student at the University or Internal / External Transfer students.
All students desiring Full-Time Status in the Pedagogy Option must meet the following criteria:
- Acceptance into the program as a student with “Conditional Status.”
- All students must take and receive qualifying scores on the PRAXIS I (Pre-professional skills tests – Reading, Writing and Mathematics) Teacher Licensure Exam. All students, whether admitted freshmen or external transfers have one year from the beginning of classes in our option to meet this requirement.
- All students must achieve and maintain at least a 2.67 Overall Grade Point Average (a B- overall average) at the end of their second year in our program.
