The list is endless - We keep some in the Sport Studies Lab. Also check out the SBRnet.com -- the biggest on-line sports data base there is!! -- and the Sports Business Daily, considered the essential news source for sport executives. The SBRnet.com is available to all UNH students via the Library’s web site. Also check out Matthew J. Robinson, et al. Profiles of Sport Industry Professionals (Aspen Publishers, 2001).

4)GET INVOLVED FOR EXPERIENCE AND FOR CONTACTS

There is plenty here at UNH. We'll send updates on the Sport Studies email bulletin board.

5)PREPARE A RESUME, A PERSONAL PLAN, AND A PORTFOLIO

Guidelines available in Room 109 or Sport Studies Lab. We want to see these when you come for advising!! Sign up for workshops at Career Planning. Use the services you already pay for!!!!!

6)JOIN PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

7)BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS

Public Speaking, Computer Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Pagemaker, SPSS), Cultural Literacy (news, literature, art). You can learn only so much in courses. Some must be on your own. But one way or another,  you must become an appealing person who can function in today’s world. This won’t happen by playing video games.

8)PREPARE FOR AN INTERNSHIP, WHICH IS YOUR LAUNCHING PAD

See files in the Sport Studies Lab. See us early.

9)PREPARE TO MOVE ANYWHERE AND OFTEN!!!!
