Foundation for Seacoast Health
Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who
qualify academically, are pursuing a health-related field of study,
and have been and continue to be residents for a minimum of two
years of one of the nine Seacoast communities in the foundation’s
service area (Portsmouth, Newington, New Castle, Greenland, Rye,
and North Hampton, NH; Kittery, Eliot, and York, Maine.)
Awards are based primarily on academic achievement and potential
as demonstrated by test scores, rank in class or grade-point averages,
difficulty of course selection, and commitment to the field of health.
Financial need is not a consideration.
Jaastad Educational Loan Fund
Students who can demonstrate financial need can apply for low interest loans. This loan is available to New Hampshire residents. Contact the Department of Nursing administrative assistant for consideration.
New Hampshire Charitable Foundation
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is a private, nonprofit
organization known as a community foundation. Since it was established
in 1962, many individual donors have created more than 1,000 permanently
endowed funds to support nonprofit organizations and to assist New
Hampshire residents with education expenses.
Twenty-one percent of the foundation’s assets are devoted
to providing student aid.
Any New Hampshire resident who is at least a half-time student at
an accredited educational institution may apply. Graduating high
school seniors, undergraduate students, or adult students may apply.

NH Workforce Incentive Program
The New Hampshire Workforce Incentive program assists those New
Hampshire students enrolled in approved nursing programs in the
state who demonstrate need and merit. The program is supported by
state funds and matching funds provided by the State of New Hampshire.
Students are not required to pay back the awards made under this
program.
To receive these funds, each full-time or part-time student must
sign a promissory note payable to the state treasurer. Notes will
be canceled upon completion of one calendar year of either full-time
or part-time nursing service.

Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust
The Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust provides
funds for those New Hampshire residents with a desire to pursue
post-secondary school education in the fields of nursing, medicine,
or social work, but who would otherwise be unable to do so because
of financial reasons.
