Degree Requirements
Degree requirements for the Bachelor of Science (BS) in nursing major are satisfied by the completion of 128 credit hours with a grade average of C or better. The total 128 credit hours contain 64 credit hours in nursing through transferred nursing credits and university nursing credits. The remaining 64 credit hours include the university's general education requirements, nursing prerequisite credit hours, and general elective credit hours.
Associate degree RN graduates are allowed to transfer in 29 nursing credits. Any general education or elective course credits are then transferred up to the 64 allowable credits from an associate program.

Notes about non-nursing required courses:
1. May be completed as transfer courses prior to admission or taken after admission.
2. * These courses can be completed through challenge exams.
3. Courses require grade (or equivalent exam score) of C or better.

NURS 655 (3 credits) Community Health Nursing I
NURS 656 (2 credits) Community Health Nursing II: Individuals, Families, and Aggregates
NURS 656C Clinical (1 credit) Taken concurrently with NURS 656, the student completes 40 hours of clinical experience in community nursing. Requirement waived for nurses who can document recent sufficient community nursing practice or graduates of Great Bay Community College or Manchester Community College.

128 Credits Required
RNs who have less than 128 credits are required to reach the degree requirement through electives. Elective credit can be obtained by courses or challenge examination.
NURSING CERTIFICATION: If you hold current nursing certification in a specialty awarded by a national certification organization 4 elective credits will be awarded upon receipt of certification documentation. Examples of certification acceptable for transfer credit include: ANCC(ANA), CCRN, CEN, CNOR, Midwifery.
