Honors in Major
The Occupational Therapy Honors Program is designed to foster advanced intellectual development of students through seminars, classes and independent research. Participants in the Honors Program report that it enhanced their independent thinking and communication skills and enabled them to extend their learning beyond what is offered in class.
Some students begin participating in the University Honors Program freshman year by taking honors sections of general education courses. These students may also pursue Honors in the major. Occupational Therapy students do not have to be enrolled in the University Honors Program to participate in the Departmental Honors Program. Successful completion of the program will be noted on the student diploma and academic record.
Qualified juniors and seniors (GPA 3.2) who do not pursue the honors program but wish to take an honors section of a particular course may do so by contacting the course instructor. Honors courses are so designated on transcripts.
General questions about the Occupational Therapy Honor Program can be answered by advisors. Questions about the requirements for specific honors courses should be discussed with the course instructor.
